A new chapter is unfolding in Tazewell, Virginia, with the arrival of Wayfarer, a vibrant hub where community, music, and locally sourced cuisine come together. As Wayfarer takes root in the historic space previously home to Painted Peak Brewing Company, a fresh vision is emerging—one that blends some farm-to-table dining, a co-op and Mercantile, and a Music Venue set to bring both local and Nashville-based talent to the stage.
More than just a restaurant or venue, Wayfarer is a movement—one that celebrates the people, stories, and traditions that make this region special. With a deep commitment to eco-conscious practices and sustainable tourism, Wayfarer will highlight the bounty of Appalachia, sourcing as much as possible of fresh ingredients from local farmers, artisans, and producers to create a menu that honors both the land and those who cultivate it. The co-op/Mercantile will provide a gathering place for the community, offering access to fresh, locally sourced goods while fostering collaboration among regional growers, makers, and food enthusiasts.

"We’re beyond excited to bring this vision to life, to provide a space where people can share a meal, discover incredible music, and feel at home."
The journey to bring Wayfarer to life has been a true collaboration, and we are deeply grateful for the support of the Tazewell Industrial/Economic Development Authority, whose efforts continue to be a driving force behind making this vision a reality.
With a phased opening beginning in early summer 2025, anticipation is already building for what’s ahead. Wayfarer isn’t just a new restaurant or venue—it’s a destination that will bring visitors to Tazewell, helping to grow the local economy and establish the town as a must-visit location for travelers, music lovers, and culinary explorers.
